From Zinc Research to zinc tank
Zinc tank is an extension of Zinc Research, founded in Calgary in 2006. The agency began with (and still abides to) the premise that organizations today need to have a firm, over-arching grasp on the social, environmental, economic and psychological aspects of their operations and their vision for the future.

Committed to advancing the concept of the triple bottom line (people, planet, profit), Zinc Research has worked with a range of private and public sector clients, notably in tourism and hospitality, energy, and economic and industrial development. The agency first gained prominence for its primary research, including onsite, online and qualitative methods. Within its first year of operation, the agency was being acknowledged as among the top firms in North America for onsite research.

Disruptive technologies and social skills
Zinc Research was one of the first Canadian agencies to focus on the implications of social media and digital media for the economy: In 2007 Zinc initiated a unique syndicated study, "The Bridge: Canadians and Social Media," which is now approaching its eleventh wave.

Through this work, zinc tank president Brian F. Singh has emerged as a leading exponent of digital media resources as marketing game-changers. He is currently developing a book that explores Canada's online population segments - and indeed it is these dramatic new phenomena that led directly to the research agency's evolution, culminating in the launch of zinc tank.
